May 20, 2018 –
Brooke is paricipating.
In honor of the anniversaries of the passage of Women’s Suffrage in New York and the 19th Amendment, The Bronx County Historical Society honors New York’s women of the past and present. This symposium will showcase the efforts of women throughout the 19th-21st centuries. Panel discussions will explore these experiences and define how
the legacies of women like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Nellie Bly paved the way for the
opportunities women have today.
The Suffragents won the Gold Medal in US History in the 2018 Independent Publisher Book Awards and was a finalist for the 2018 Sally and Morris Lasky Prize, presented by the Center for Political History at Lebanon Valley College.
