JUNIOR LEAGUE OF NYC: Book Talk on Undaunted, Brooke Kroeger, March 3, 2026

This was a fun event. Under the rubric of “What can go wrong will,” the AV had an epic fail. There’s no recording of a new approach I ginned up to telling the tales, so I’m sharing here the heretofore unseen Powerpoint I created for the occasion. The speech hit each epoch in the history of journalism’s women, from 1840 to Vietnam, each time women, as individuals or as a class, had specific impact on the field, recognized in high compensation, new journalistic forms, widely recognized singularity and impact, and/or major awards.
